Privacy Policy
This page explains what this site collects, what it doesn't, and which third parties are involved. Last updated 25 July 2026.
The short version
We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't sell anything directly. The only personal information we ever hold is an email address, and only if you choose to give us one. Everything else on this page is about third parties whose code runs on the page.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored and processed by Buttondown, our newsletter provider. We use it to send you the newsletter and nothing else. We do not sell, rent or share the list. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address.
Analytics and server logs
The site is served by Cloudflare, which records standard request information (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This is ordinary web-server logging and is not used to build a profile of you.
Advertising cookies
We may display advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Where we do:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links may be affiliate links, meaning we earn a commission if you buy something after following one, at no extra cost to you. This never changes what the data says. The charts are generated from public data by code, not chosen to suit an advertiser.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you — which, in practice, means your newsletter subscription. If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email us and we will action it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
